When do you open and close for the season?

Pleasant Hill Campground welcomes guests each year starting May 1st, offering a full season of camping until we close on Columbus Day (Indigenous Peoples Day). This period allows you to experience the beauty of each season with us, from the fresh bloom of spring to the fun of the summer sun, right through to the start of Maine’s beautiful fall foliage.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Pleasant Hill Campground offers convenient check-in and check-out times to accommodate your travel plans. Check-in begins at 2 pm, giving you ample time to settle in and start enjoying your camping experience. Check-out is at 11 am, allowing for a relaxed morning before you depart. These times are designed to ensure a smooth transition for both arriving and departing guests, making every moment of your stay enjoyable and hassle-free.

What activities have an additional cost?

At Pleasant Hill Campground, we pride ourselves on offering a range of free activities, including the use of amenities like mini-golf. However, certain events like our weekly Bingo games and special activities such as paint & sip nights or catered dinners may carry an additional charge.

We strive to maximize the value for our campers with as many complimentary experiences as possible. For visitors, a $5 per person, per day fee is required for pool access, with wristbands available for purchase in the office.

Is your water drinkable?

Yes, the water at Pleasant Hill Campground is drinkable. We are committed to ensuring the safety and quality of our water supply, which is why our wells undergo testing three times a week. You can confidently use our water for drinking and other needs during your stay, knowing that it meets high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Where can I fish at Pleasant Hill and do I need a license?

The fishing pond at Pleasant Hill Campground is primarily designed for kids, being small and catch-and-release only. Those under 16 years old do not need a fishing license to enjoy this activity. It’s a great spot for young anglers to get their first fishing experience!

What can I set up on my campsite?

At your reserved campsite, you can set up an RV/Camper or tent. Screened tents/patios are allowed, provided they don’t cover fire rings, which must remain outside all tents. While clotheslines and hammocks might be restricted, small grills and additional seating are welcome.

What animals can I expect to see around the grounds?

At Pleasant Hill Campground, nestled in a rural wooded area, you can expect to see various woodland creatures. Chipmunks are plentiful around the Office and Rec Room. In early autumn turkeys flock down back in the R section. You might also catch a glimpse of a deer or two. Also, be on the lookout for our mascot Sunny the Sloth! Although not a real sloth you will see him everywhere around the campground as he encourages you to relax and hang with us! 

Amenities and Services

What amenities do you have?

Pleasant Hill Campground is delighted to offer a variety of amenities, catering to both practical needs and making your stay more fun!

Our facilities include two well-equipped bathhouses, a spacious laundry facility, an off-leash dog park for your furry friends, and a serene fishing pond. For fun and entertainment, we have a camp store, refreshing pool, arcade, mini-golf, and a lively bounce pad.

Don’t forget to visit our office to discover our selection of complimentary games and movies, and learn about the fun activities planned during your stay!

Do the sites include picnic tables and fire rings?

Every site at Pleasant Hill Campground is equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring, ensuring you have the essentials for a classic Maine camping experience. We advise against moving the fire rings, as they are strategically placed for safety and to minimize campsite damage.

How many cars are allowed per campsite?

At Pleasant Hill Campground, each campsite accommodates 1-2 cars, depending on the site’s size. We kindly request that cars are not parked on roadways. Additional parking is available near the office and along the road to the laundry building.

For those arriving on motorcycles, parking in the designated lot is required to keep pathways clear and ensure safety for all campers.

Do you have laundry facilities?

Pleasant Hill Campground offers a full-service laundry facility located across from the mini-golf course. The machines operate with quarters, which you can purchase at the office. The laundry is open daily from 7 am to 10 pm, ensuring convenience for all your laundry needs during your stay.

Do you have a dump station?

There’s a dump station available near the office at Pleasant Hill Campground. Guests are welcome to use it free of charge, making it convenient for RV campers to manage waste disposal efficiently.

Do you have a Honey Wagon?

Yes, Pleasant Hill Campground offers a Honey Wagon service for guests staying at sites without a full sewer hookup. The service is available at $20 per pump-out, conducted twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. For emergency pump-outs, we provide additional service at $40. This ensures convenience and cleanliness for our guests without full sewer connections.

Do you have cable TV and Wifi?

At Pleasant Hill Campground, complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the Rec Room, Party Deck, and Pool area. For those wishing to stay connected at their campsites, Wi-Fi packages can be purchased through our third party vendor SkyWeb. Information is available in the office.

We do not provide cable TV services, to try and ensure a more authentic camping experience in tune with the natural surroundings.

Campground Rules and Policies

Are dogs allowed?

Absolutely, your four-legged companions are welcome at Pleasant Hill Campground! We’re a pet-friendly destination, and we adore meeting your furry friends.

For the safety and comfort of all our guests, we ask that you keep dogs leashed and clean up after them using our conveniently located pet waste stations.

Our dog park is a great off-leash area for your pups to play.

Please note, for the wellbeing of our community, dogs over 45 pounds, and aggressive breeds are not permitted. Also, unattended or excessively noisy pets are discouraged to maintain a peaceful atmosphere for other campers. Remember to carry proof of vaccinations.

Visitors’ pets are not allowed.

When is quiet time?

Pleasant Hill Campground is dedicated to ensuring a serene and restful environment for all our guests. Our quiet hours are set from 11pm to 8am.

During this time, we kindly ask everyone to keep noise to a minimum to allow for a peaceful night’s sleep. Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, we appreciate your cooperation in maintaining this calm atmosphere for everyone’s enjoyment!

Do you allow late check-in?

At Pleasant Hill Campground, we understand life happens and can certainly accommodate late check-ins, however, we kindly request that you inform us in advance if you plan to arrive after office hours. This allows us to make necessary arrangements and provide you with all the information needed for a seamless check-in, even when our office is closed.

Do you allow golf carts or ATVs?

Yes, golf carts are welcome at Pleasant Hill Campground, provided they are covered by general liability insurance with our campground listed as additionally insured. This policy ensures safety and responsibility within our grounds. However, please note that operators must be at least 16 years old.

As for ATVs, Side by Sides, and Dirt Bikes, these are not permitted in the campground to maintain a peaceful and safe environment for all our guests.

Can we bring pallets to burn?

At Pleasant Hill Campground, we permit only firewood, fire starters, and flame color-changing packets to be burned in campfires. To maintain the health and safety of our natural surroundings, burning pallets is not allowed. This policy helps us ensure a safe and sustainable camping experience for all our guests while being kind to our environment.

Do you allow generators?

Generators are not permitted at Pleasant Hill Campground. This policy is in place to ensure a peaceful and undisturbed environment for all guests. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining the serene atmosphere of our campground.

What are SiteLock fees?

The SiteLock fee at Pleasant Hill Campground is a $25 option during booking that ensures your selected site is ‘locked’ and will not be changed. Without SiteLock, your site may be moved to a comparable location. This feature is especially beneficial for guests who prefer specific locations near amenities like bathhouses. If a change is necessary due to unforeseen circumstances like storm damage, you’ll be contacted to choose a new site and your SiteLock fee will be refunded.

What types of materials can be recycled at the campground?

Pleasant Hill Campground provides special bins for returnable bottles, located next to dumpsters and in the Rec Room. Collected returnables are donated to the local Hermon Boy Scout Troop, supporting community initiatives.

Is it safe to swim in the pond?

Swimming in the fish or frog pond and the stream is not permitted as these are habitats for local wildlife. For swimming and water fun, we encourage guests to use our well-maintained pool, perfect for family enjoyment and safety.
