Meet the Team
Pleasant Hill Campground is owned and operated by a family of fun and energetic people who want to make sure that your stay with us is a fun and memorable experience. When you see us during your stay, make sure to say “Hi!”
General Manager
Michelle Shores
While you are here it is Michelle Shores, our General Manager, that you will see the most. As matriarch of the family, it’s only fitting that she should be the one at the forefront of all things pleasant! Michelle not only keeps all of the campground systems running, she is also the magic behind all of our guest experiences as well as making sure we are offering you interesting and varied activities to do while you are here.
If you need information on things to do around the State of Maine, check with Michelle. She most recently worked as the Advertising Manager for the Maine Tourism Association, so it’s possible she may know a thing or two about unique experiences and little known gems! Michelle is also a multi-award-winning author of the best-selling book “The Gathering Room – A Tale of Nelly Butler.” She can help you find just the right book to read while hanging out in a hammock or lounging around the pool! Michelle brings a unique and interesting perspective to our campground and provides us all with pleasant vibes!
Facilities Manager
Bud Means
Bud is the other half of the dynamic that makes this campground so special. Although his official title is Facilities Manager, he does a lot more than just make sure the campground looks nice. Bud works side by side with Michelle to ensure that every guest here has the best experience possible. You will find him mowing the lawn or testing the pool water just as easily as he welcomes you to free coffee on weekend mornings and he keeps the party going at the Community Fire Pit with his jokes and stories. Hailing from Downeast Maine if you want to hear that authentic Maine accent make sure you talk to Bud! Of all the roles Bud fills here at Pleasant Hill Campground the most important by far is that he is responsible for hiding Gary every Friday night. Bud is an intricate part of the team that makes this campground different from all the rest. We are lucky to have found him!
Office Manager
Brooke Robbins
You will also get to know Brooke Robbins, our Office Manager. Like Michelle, Brooke will be one of the people you see the most. Brooke started camping at Pleasant Hill Campground in 2008 with her parents. They came first as tent campers, upgraded to a pop up and are now seasonal campers with a 5th wheel. The natural progression of true campers! Since 2020 Brooke has been working in the camp office, she is literally the glue that holds all things in place here! We love her pleasant vibes attitude and how well she treats every camper and guest that walks through the office door! Brooke is also raising the 3rd generation of Pleasant Hill Campers and we love this piece she adds to our family vibe!
Smiling Faces
Meet the Crew
It takes a team of people dedicated to this community and what we want to accomplish here to keep everything running! We are blessed to have a dedicated group of Work Campers who share our passion and love for this place. These folks fill in as Activities Directors, Housekeepers, Groundscrew and more to make sure that all our guests staying here has a camping experience like no other! If you would be interested in joining our Work Camper family in the future if, positions arise, please stop by the office and let a Staff member know.
Meet Our Mascot
Can You Find Gary?
Meet Gary! He is one of the most beloved members of our team. Gary has been here at the campground longer than anyone can remember, but he didn’t have a name or a purpose. In previous years he sat alongside Union St. by the campground sign, all alone. That was until the spring of 2024 when Bud decided to bring him into the house and set him next to Michelle’s bed! She was shocked to say the least and insisted that he be removed to the dumpster! But fate had other plans for him. After a few weeks Michelle fell in love with those eyes and named this little fellow Gary! Bud took him out of the house and placed him down by the pond. Michelle took this picture and told all of the campground kids that if they could find Gary they could get a prize! And just like that a tradition was born! Every Friday night Bud moves Gary to a different hiding spot in the campground. Every weekend the kids have to find him. Everyone that comes into the office and tells us where they found Gary gets to choose a free toy out of Michelle’s toy basket! Gary is now part of the family! Loved by many and no longer sitting alone out on Union St. Can you find Gary?
Good Times
What Visitors Are Saying

Booked our stay based on recommendations from two different family members. I was not disappointed! Beautiful spot, clean washrooms, wonderful front desk staff. Will absolutely be back!
KRISTEN Z.

These guys were awesome! Personally walked me over to my site, got me US change for the laundry at a super fair exchange rate, showed us to the frog pond (amazing) and just generally one of the friendliest, most welcoming sites we’ve been to. Highly recommended!
ANDREW B.

I was impressed with the grounds, amenities and staff. Very convenient location as well! This will be our first choice for all future trips, and I look forward to spending more time here next time through!
